Reduced charges for AWOL NSF?

"The lawyer for Dave Teo Ming, the NSF who went absent without leave in September, is applying to reduce the charges. Teo, 20, is facing three charges of stealing a rifle from his camp, unlawful possession of eight bullets and carrying a knife in public without lawful purpose."

"If found guilty of the two charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and live rounds, Teo could be jailed between five and 14 years, and caned for each charge."
